I'm a painter. My subject matter varies seasonally from Landscape to Portrait or Still Life painting. I've lived and painted all over the country. My favorite spots are in and around New England, the Great Divide, the Pacific Northwest (PNW), and the Great Lakes or 'Third Coast'. I spend Spring through late Autumn traveling to these spots in my truck 'Bernadette' with my two dogs, Bella & Luka, to camp and paint En Plein Air. I try to keep traveling easy — to live simply while painting the unknown and overlooked places I enjoy and feel most at home. When my travels taper down late Autumn I paint Still Lifes, Portraits, and do a bit of woodworking. I prepare all my panels for the next year of painting, design, build, finish frames for new work, and make furniture.
I offer workshops on painting and woodworking out of my studio and shop. I'm a member of the American Impressionist Society (AIS), the Oil Painters of America (OPA), the Portrait Society of America (PSoA) of which I'm also the Ambassador for Wisconsin (PSoA-Ambassador, WI), the Salmagundi Club in New York, and co-founder of Lead Feather Press.
